I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Diane Freis Refashion
Ruby Ring and Earrings: Gifts from Hubby
Red Beads: Great Grandmother's
Yellow Beads: Burk's Outlet
Black Leather Belt: Commissioned from Local Leather Shop
Top: Spiegel Outlet
Skirt: Refashioned
Heels: Thrifted
I was in a Goodwill buying a blazer (it will eventually appear here, I'm sure), when I decided to glance through the dresses. I shop with my hands. I knew I had hit silk about the same time as my brain told me what my eyes were seeing. The most wildly printed silk dress I had ever had the privilege of beholding! I pondered a moment. I put it back (crazy talk right?). I walked two steps away then turned and lunged for it!
The reason for my hesitation? It was $9! That's big bucks when I'm thrifting. :o) But it was silk! And I couldn't stop starring at the craaaazy print! I new I had to take it home and turn it into a skirt.
The skirt portion of the dress had a faux wrap piece going up across the front. I just knew I could trim the under layer to go up too and end up with a lovely wrapped high-low hem. It worked just as I thought it would. *Fist pump in the air* YES! :o)

PS: When I got home I thought the label looked designer-ish so I looked her up. So um, some people are paying anywhere up to $200 for these dresses! Hubby asked if I wanted to put her on Ebay. I will admit I DID consider it (briefly), but the elastic was stretched out in the waist so it wouldn't get premium price anyways. So I said nope, I gotta keep that fantastic, wild print! :o) For anyone curious to see it in all its original glory...Ta-Dah!

OMG!!!! There is actually someone who loves wild prints as much as I do. Woohoo! You stroke gold with that dress and turned it into a fabulous skirt. Love your bubble necklace and the shoes. I am now your newest follower. Have a lovely holiday weekend.
