Sunflowers

Stud Bracelet: Burke's Outlet
Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx

Blouse, Skirt, and Belt: Thrifted
Sandals: Crocs

This field has been in my family for 132 years.  It is part of the family farm started by my Great-Great Grandparents when they came over from Czechoslovakia.  The sunflower crop is a new venture. :o)  Isn't it beautiful?  I wanted to take so many more pictures, but it was raining off and on and I feared damaging my  camera.  Too bad the sun wasn't out, all the sunflowers were napping in the rain.  Just think how even more cheery they would have looked all perked up in the sunshine!

Refashioned Diane Freis

Multi-color beads: Burke's Outlet
Ring: Gift from Brother
Pink Bangle: Gift from young friend
Ceramic watch: TJMaxx
Belt: Commissioned Local
Top: TJMaxx
Skirt: Thrifted and Refashioned from a Diane Freis Dress
Shoes: Dillards (clearance)

These photos are quite bright!  And not due to my colorful skirt. :o)  It was high noon by the time we got to take photos.  We retreated to the shaded woods, but my that sun still came blazing through!  It washed out my makeup more than a little bit.  You can hardly see my pretty pink lipstick. *Sigh*

It has been waaaaaay too long since I last wore this fantastic skirt.  I mean really, could there be a crazier print?  Aaaallll those colors, with so much going on.  I think I could wear just about any shirt in my closet and still "match". :o)

I had to do a bit of a Jolie pose to show off the curve of the skirt's hem.  It did not have that curve originally, but I saw it in there and just had to make it so.

I haven't even mentioned that it is a silk skirt.  Ah, silk...swishy, swishy silk.  I found myself walking briskly just to feel the silk flowing out behind me. :o)

In case you didn't get to see this the first time it was featured, I'll leave you with a picture of the "before".

JJ

PS:  I still have the bodice in hopes of finding a way to use it someday.

Butterfly Maxi Skirt

Butterfly Earrings, Sapphire Butterfly Ring: Gifts from Hubby
Vintage Mint Necklace: Roadside Flea Market
Blue Multi-strand bracelet, White Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx (Bracelet was a gift from Hubby)
Stud Bracelet: Burke's Outlet
Blouse: JCPenny
Butterfly Maxi: Refashioned from a Vintage Dress

Is anyone counting how many times I've worn my stud bracelet in a row?  I almost didn't buy it, thinking it wouldn't get worn very often.  Wrong!

So this skirt was a vintage dress I thrifted a couple of weeks ago.  It had a high (choking) neck and loooong sleeves.  I really wish I had taken a before picture!  Please accept my sincere apologies for neglecting to do so.

I paired this top with my skirt simply because I like Orange and Turquoise together.  It doesn't really match, but it sure does compliment!  I thought about throwing in some more Orange with jewelry, but when I tried it, it took away from that POP I was loving.  I did wear Orange lipstick though. :o)

It's too bad you can't see my shoes.  I wore my Vintage Hunter Green Snakeskin heels.  They were perfect, just perfect with this skirt.

After church, I switched to a Turquoise tank top with Orange writing across it.  I still had my original colors going on, but was super comfortable for my baby's birthday party.  Rocket turned 2!  I guess he's not a baby, but he will always be Mama's Baby!

PS: Thought you might like to see the Birthday Boy. :o)

Bananas!!!

Vintage Earrings: Antique Shop
Top: Thrifted
Skirt: Self Made

I have been just waiting for Share-In-Style: Fruit for ages!!!  I'm surprised how simple this outfit really is.  I guess you don't need much when your wearing Bananas and a Tutu. :o)

My almost 8 year old was my photographer today and did a great job.  I started out using the timer, but wasn't getting good shots until he took over.  I leave you with this final shot that he worked REALLY hard to get!  We're talking lots and lots of retakes. :o)

Double Palm

Gold Hoop Earrings: Gift from Hubby
Vintage "Pearl" Neckalce: Thrifted
Grey Seed Necklace: Made by Hubby's Grandmother
Tassel Necklace: DIY
Stud Bracelet and Yellow Stretch Bracelets: Burk's Outlet
Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx
Top: JCPenny
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: DSW (clearance)

I don't know if I'll be keeping this skirt.  It kept bunching up all day!  I was constantly pulling and tugging and checking it for unattractive bulges.  Ugh!

I do wonder if it would behave better if I were a bit more trim?  This was the first time I have been able to get it on (I bought it just after having my second and couldn't get it past my thighs then).  My friends at church really liked it (and so do I), so I put it back in the closet for the time being.  If it doesn't fit better by the next closet purge, it'll have to go.

When I started putting this outfit together, I first tried a leopard blouse.  It looked nice, but just wasn't what I wanted.  I had given up on an alternative, when I came across this top crammed and hidden between the rest of my tops.  It has palm leaves, the skirt has palm trees.  It has Lime and Light Turquoise, the skirt has Lime and Dark Turquiose.  What a match!!!

The top needed to be tucked in, but it would have showed through the White skirt.  What to do?  Knot it.  But I had already planned to wear the seashell belt, and the outfit needed it.  Not to worry, I have worn a belt with a knotted shirt before, so I knew it would still work.  Last time I belted above the knot, this time under.

I was so happy to have the perfect Lime eyeshadow to go with my outfit!  Lime is such a fun color to wear. :o)
