Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

This year's Christmas card...My cousin replied back that he's glad there isn't a song that goes something like "Runnin' Naked Around the Christmas Tree" cause he'd hate to get that card! :o)

Dressed up in Pajamas

Hat: Hubby's
Necklace: DIY
Jacket: Thrifted
T-Shirt: Target
PJ Pants: Gift from Mom
Owl Slippers: Gift from Son

After being awake a big part of the night with the baby, I chose to wear my PJs all day.  However; I didn't want to look frumpy so I wore a soft fitted tshirt and pom-pom necklace.  I took the boys for a walk dressed like this. :o)  I have "dressed up" my pajamas before to spend the evening at my parents, so this was nothing new for me.

Rushing Around in Red Tights

Red Beads: Great Grandmother
Beaded Collar: Vintage
Belt: Thrifted
Red Tights: ?
Boots: Old

I had to get dressed fairly quick, we slept in a little later than we should've.  Probably due to seeing Rise of the Guardians last night.  We went to a later showing so the baby could sleep through the movie and not disturb anyone.  Even when when we go to "kids" movies, I'd rather not have a crying baby (mine or other's) making it hard to hear.  Amazingly, the only thing I forgot in my rush to get dressed was to put on my earrings.  When we run late, I tend to feel like I've walked out the door half naked, and always ask Hubby if I'm decent. :o)

On another note, I found out that I can only wear my red tights with boots now, as said boots have been chewing on 'em.  I told Hubby that I "need" a second pair of red tights to wear with regular shoes now!  As an added "sign" I saw a fancier pair on Heathering Heights that would be a great option for the second pair!

Rose Earrings: Great Grandmother P
Necklace: Great Grandmother G
Red Leather Belt: Outlet
Cowboy print blouse: Garage Sale
Skirt: Thrifted
Red Leather Heels: Marshall's
Tractor: Dad's :o)

Dad brought his tractor to clear out all the dead trees (lost in the drought) on our place.  It looks great out there already and there's still more to clear!  Oh yeah, this is what I wore to church Sunday morning.

20 Minutes

Earrings: Made by a Friend
Necklace: DIY
Belt: Refashioned
Black Lace Top: Ross
Grey Lace Top: New York and Co.
Blazer: Thrifted
Pants: Refashioned
Socks: Swiped from Dad years ago
Booties: Thrifted

I put this on to wear to a church function, but 20 minutes after I got there I realized I didn't have a nursing cover with me, so Baby and I went home.  I was about to change clothes to tackle some things around the house, when I decided to snap some pictures.  I ended up just kicking off my shoes and Blazer and stayed in my outfit the rest of the day.

PS: This is what happens when you try to get a "cool" picture slinging your jacket over your shoulder! :o)

Silence

Beaded Necklace/Collar: Vintage
Belt: Thrifted
Watch: Gift from Hubby
Leather Bracelets: Colorado
Top: Old
Skirt: JCPenny (clearance)
Tights: Target
Boots: Old

My tired look is due to a teething baby...we woke up a LOT last night.

I have wondered why I never get any comments on here.  This week a friend text me that she tried to comment, but could not.  Then I remembered that my sister had said the same thing about a month ago.  So I changed some of the settings.  I was able to leave a comment and I asked my sister to try.  She could too, so I guess I fixed the problem that I didn't even know I had. :o)

Shopping in Boots

Pinecone Necklace: Auction
Acorn Necklace: Gift from Mom
Sweater: Grandmother's
Yellow Shorts: I dyed them
Brown Sweater Tights?
Boots: Old

I totally enjoyed wearing this outfit, except for the waist of my tights were stretched out so I kept having to haul 'em up!  I will be wearing my other brown tights from now on...these have been retired!  I wanted to get the fall decorations in the shot...not the Christmas ones though. :o(  I have been fussing this year that Thanksgiving gets skipped over by the Christmas decorations.  Good part about that was I bought Thanksgiving napkins for 80% off!!! :o)

Nintendo

Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach

Mario: Purchased Costume

Luigi: Hat (I made) + Green shirt + overalls

Princess Peach: Crown (I made) + Blue earrings + Blue necklace + Pink shirt + Lots of makeup + Big Hair (also wearing Pink glitter shoes that didn't make it into the photo)

When Son 1 picked the Mario costume, Son 2 and my costumes just fell into place.  I decided I was Princess Peach when she grew up and became a Mom. :o)  Second photo was taken on my phone so that's why the photos don't match at all!

Yesterday's Outfit was Great...but this is not it!

Watch Necklace: Gift from Friend
Red "Jacket": Garage Sale (refashioned)
Top: TJMaxx (old, refashioned)
Pants: Stein Mart (dyed)
Crocs: Gift from Hubby

So yesterday I wore a pretty outfit that turned out to be pretty uncomfortable!  Even though I received complements...I won't be wearing that exact same outfit again.  One of the biggest issues was I wore a jacket that is still a bit tight in the arms (bought pre-baby) and that just doesn't work when I'm carrying around a big little guy!

Enough about that...Today's outfit has a lot of DIY.  My "jacket" was previously a blouse, my blouse was tunic length before I gave it the chop, and my pants were a wedding dress...just kidding they were khaki and I dyed them. :o)

Special thanks to my Assistant and Part-time Photographer...my 6 year old son! :o)  He took the second photo (plus several more that didn't get used, but ARE good enough to keep).

When an Outfit Just Happens

Gold Hoop Earrings: Gift from Hubby
Pearls: Gift from Friend
Black Beads: Had for Ages
Coral Ring: Silver Artist at an Antiques Show
Red Leather Belt: Wall's Outlet
Top: DIY
Skirt: Vintage Dress refashioned into Skirt
Red Blazer: Thrifted
Red Leather Shoes: Marshall's

I usually choose what to wear to church on Saturday night.  I wasn't sure last night so I hung several options out, among which was this skirt.  I had planned to wear it with a top that is in storage, but really it isn't cool enough yet.  I had finished painting the Owl on my tank top yesterday, so it was laying across the ironing board, and as my gaze fell on it this morning I knew it would pair nicely with the skirt.  I first thought of a Black belt, but when I reached for the belt I grabbed the Red one instead.  Since the belt was Red, it made sense to wear the same color shoes.  I stumbled across my Coral ring when I was digging for my pearls.  Right before I headed out the door, I grabbed my Red Blazer.  Outfit complete.

When I was reconstructing the Skirt from a Vintage Dress, I decided not to attach the lining.  I thought I'd have more options if it was left separate, then I could wear the long liner, or a short liner, or tights, or shorts.  For the rest of the day, I removed the Lining Skirt and wore Black shorts underneath.

Two in One

Scarf: T-Shirt (I made) rolled and worn as an infinity scarf
Umbrella: Vintage
Stripe Shirt: TJMaxx
Cardigan: Academy (clearance)
Brown Cords: refashioned
Mary Janes Pin: Vintage
Crocs: Gift from Hubby (Dillards)

My favorite weather is Rainy, my favorite season is Fall...Rainy Fall Day = Bliss.  These Cords were an anemic greenish brown color and unflattering fit before threw them in Orange dye and tapered the legs.  They are now a nice Teddy Bear Brown and are a great fit. :o)
