Sunny Sunday NIGHT???

Multi-strand black beads: Claire's
Double wrapped long yellow beads: DIY
Yellow glass ring: Earthbound Trading Co.
Yellow long sleeve Tshirt: Academy (clearance)
Yellow Pucci blouse: Thrifted
Jeans: Thrifted

I brushed out my hair a bit, added another strand of beads, a quick change of clothes and was ready for Sunday night church service.  You can't see, but I'm wearing my Leopard flats.  It's hard not to be cheerful and smiley when wearing sunny yellow! :o)

Revisiting France circa 1940

Lipstick Cherry Picked: Ulta (on sale plus coupon)
Multi-strand beads: Claire's (ages ago)
Red Snakeskin belt: Thrifted
Ruby Ring and Earrings: Gifts from Hubby
Brooches: various antique shops
Red Blazer: Thrifted
Tuxedo blouse: Handed down from Friend
Plaid pants: Handed down from Sister
Red Leather Heels: Anne Klein via Marshalls

I wasn't sure how I felt about posting an outfit that I had posted before.  I finally decided that everyone at church was seeing it again so why not here again too?  Plus I felt better about it since I styled my hair differently and added the red blazer with brooches.

Out on the Town

Nails: DIY
Twisted Necklace: ???
Sequin Top: Ross
Levi Olive Green Button Down: Thrifted
Jeans: Thrifted
Navy Trench: Thrifted
Knee High socks: Gift from Son via Target
Blue Leather Flats: DSW (on clearance)

I saw this nail technique on a blog I follow, What I Wore.  This is my second rendition of it.  The first time was in blue tones, sorry I didn't take any pictures.  I'm pleased that it lasts a bit longer than usual due to the glitter polish being on the tips where chipping usually starts on regular polish.  This picture was taken on day three and doesn't look any worse for wear.  I took a picture Saturday night, but it turned out blurry so a quick retake was necessary. :o)
The twisty necklace can be worn long, short, as a bracelet, or any way you can think to bend it.  It pretty much stays put once you have it where you want it.  With my sparkly nails and sequin top, I felt pretty snazzy out with the Hubby and Son (they took me to dinner).

Carnival

Cluster Earrings: Dallas Market
Black Multi-strand beads: Claire's ($1, ages ago)
Cameo Ring: French Quarter, New Orleans
Blazer: Thrifted (while in Tennessee)
Blouse: Anthropology via Plato's Closet
Trousers: Thrifted
Franco Sarto shoes: Thrifted (while in Tennessee)
Trouser socks (not shown): Swiped from Hubby 'cause I couldn't find a matching pair of my own! :o)

I found this yellow blouse at Plato's Closet back in July.  I just love the Carnival scenery...clothing with people printed on it gets me every time!  It is lose and airy, but not actually a maternity blouse.  I wore it once pre-pregnancy and belted it.  I have needed a black blazer in my closet since I donated my old boring one.  This one is just right, definitely not boring (see the lining peeking out?)

Glitter Love

Heart Animal Print Headband: DIY
Gold Hoops: Gift from Hubby
Multi Colored Beads: Burk's Outlet Store
Red Snakeskin Belt: Thrifted
Wrap-around animal print bracelet: DIY
Vintage(ish) blouse with red hearts: Thrifted
Jeans: Thrifted
Lace trouser socks: TJMaxx
Pink Glitter Flats: Target (I added the glitter)
Red Bramin Purse: Gift from Hubby:

A couple of weeks ago we were at a little 5yr old's birthday party, and one of her presents was pink glitter shoes.  I said right then, "I want Pink Glitter shoes for Valentines!"  My friends laughed a little, but I said, "No, I'm serious, I'm gonna find some shoes and glitter them PINK!"  I'm not even a very pink lovin' girl, but the thought of wearing something like that on my feet just made my day.  Fast forward to yesterday (cut it kinda close didn't I?), I came across the last pair of pink flats at Target IN MY SIZE (it was a sign from God, I'm pretty sure, hehe).  I decided to only glitter the front toe section of the shoe instead of the whole thing...seemed a bit more "grown up"...um, sure we'll go with that.  On to the blouse...I think this blouse belonged to a pregnant chef in the 80's!  The buttons spell out B-A-B-Y down the yoke.  There are little hearts all over it.  What could be more appropriate?  I did have to take it in a little bit, it was waaaaaay too loose and blouse-y in it's original design.  Styles have gotten away from the "wearing a tent" look pregnant gals used to sport.  I also liked it belted, but didn't wear the belt all day.  To be honest, I didn't wear my Heart Headband all day either, I need to re-do it on a looser headband.  The one I used the first time is a bit tight for my big head!  I kept taking it off in the car, then putting it back on before anyone would see me. :o)

Love in the Stitches

Blue Beads: Gift a Friend brought back from Israel
Tassel Necklace: Vintage
Bangles: Picked up cheap at local mall
Lace blouse: Ross
Argyle Sweater Vest: Handmade by Friend
Cropped Trousers: Windsor @ Katy Mills Outlet Mall
Heart Tights: Target
Franco Sarto White/Nude Heels: DSW

My sweater vest was gifted to me by a friend at church after she saw me wear the Brown and Black Argyle sweater in December.  She had made it for her Husband, but it didn't fit quite right so he never wore it!  She told me there was Love in every Stitch, so not only was I getting the sweater, I was getting the Love too! :o)

The big bangle says, "New Shoes Cure the Blues."  I wasn't wearing new shoes, but I was wearing "Blue". Haha.  I always feel like I should be wearing new shoes if I'm going to wear that bangle...consequently, it doesn't get worn as often as I'd like!

There's a first time for everything.

Vintage Green Bead Necklace: Flea Market on side of the road
Tassel Necklace: DIY
Multi-color Czech Glass Bead bracelets: DIY
Vintage blouse: Borrowed from Sister (5 years ago), she originally thrifted it
Cut off Shorts: Refashioned
Tights: Target
Blue Leather Flats: DSW
Sunny Citrus Lipstick: MaryKay

I cannot recall ever wearing shorts to church before, even on a Wednesday night.  As a teen, Dad didn't allow it and it just stuck with me.  But,we have been having unseasonably warm weather...and I've been wanting to try wearing shorts with tights...so I did it!  Plus anytime I buy/make something new, I want to wear it right away.  I worked on these shorts Wednesday afternoon, so I was excited to wear them right then.  They were an extra pair of jeans (of course) handed down from a friend.  I attacked 'em with scissors, a seam ripper, and tweezers.  I also added some studs to the back pockets.  When I was getting dressed I felt something was lacking so I went all Scarlet O'Hara and grabbed a drapery tassel and quickly made a necklace.

My son dressed himself and wanted to take a picture too.  This blog is about style, so why should he be excluded?  His shirt has an Archer on front and a large Target on the back shoulder with arrows sticking out.  I bought the shirt and painted on the details (it was his idea what to paint).  His belt was his Dad's old belt that he wanted so we cut it down and punched new holes.  Brown cords came from Oshkosh on sale for  $7!  Boots were handed down from a friend.  Oh, don't you just love his pose for the camera?

Edit: Everybody Everywear featured Pastels for April, since I was wearing Bright colors today, I linked back to this post from earlier in the year.  It's not often that I wear pastels, I'm more of a bold colors kinda gal, hence the darker tights/shorts/shoes to give the pastel top a boost. :o)
