Refashioned Diane Freis

Multi-color beads: Burke's Outlet
Ring: Gift from Brother
Pink Bangle: Gift from young friend
Ceramic watch: TJMaxx
Belt: Commissioned Local
Top: TJMaxx
Skirt: Thrifted and Refashioned from a Diane Freis Dress
Shoes: Dillards (clearance)

These photos are quite bright!  And not due to my colorful skirt. :o)  It was high noon by the time we got to take photos.  We retreated to the shaded woods, but my that sun still came blazing through!  It washed out my makeup more than a little bit.  You can hardly see my pretty pink lipstick. *Sigh*

It has been waaaaaay too long since I last wore this fantastic skirt.  I mean really, could there be a crazier print?  Aaaallll those colors, with so much going on.  I think I could wear just about any shirt in my closet and still "match". :o)

I had to do a bit of a Jolie pose to show off the curve of the skirt's hem.  It did not have that curve originally, but I saw it in there and just had to make it so.

I haven't even mentioned that it is a silk skirt.  Ah, silk...swishy, swishy silk.  I found myself walking briskly just to feel the silk flowing out behind me. :o)

In case you didn't get to see this the first time it was featured, I'll leave you with a picture of the "before".

JJ

PS:  I still have the bodice in hopes of finding a way to use it someday.

  1. Oh I know JJ, they told us not to use any false eyelashes because the chemo drugs and the glue can collide to an infection. But they did provide us with some amazing mascara. I'll use it for sure after the chemo and my lashes are back. They are NOT all gone just a few but my eyes are so puffy all the time it doesn't make sense to wear it now.

I love your inventive nature with the dress to a skirt. SMART!

    1. I love the refashioned skirt. Love how colorful it is. Can't wait to see what you do with the bodice. Maybe a tank top? Have fun with it.

    2. Thanks girls!

Elle- I was thinking of removing the sleeves to maybe attach to a tee, so making a tank top would be a practical thing to do with the leftover bodice. :o)

  4. Wow, amazing that you could see through that dress to create such a good looking skirt with an extra special hem. And silk too. mmmmm. You're right anything you chose to wear with it would look just right. It'll be interesting to see what the bodice brings forth...

    1. If only I didn't have sooooooo many projects piled up! I want to do something with that bodice right now, but sadly it's not the most important item in the pile.

  6. Jolie pose...ha! I do love the skirt, so pretty! I've been having the same issue with blasting sun because of the weirdo weather we're having.

    1. I've been trying to find new shady spots for photos. I could get up earlier and take photos before we leave for church vs. when we get back, but HA that's not going to happen. :o)
