The Shelly

First things first, I didn't realize my collar necklace had shifted sideways until I got back inside to change out of my outfit!  I simply could not redo the photos, so big blooper #1.  (I'm saving another for the end.) :o)

This outfit was thanks to my super sweet friend, Shelly!  Two birthdays ago, she wrapped my present in the polka-dot fabric I used to sew my top.  Last Summer she thrifted the skirt for me.  Last week she bought the tiny hat for me.  She said it jumped out at her and said, "Buy me for JJ!"  I told her she needs to get me a pair of shoes next so I'll have a complete Shelly outfit. :o)

Items not compliments of Shelly are: Ring (DIY), Belt (Local), Vintage Collar Necklace (Antique Shop), and Heels (Marshall's)

Here's the promised 2nd blooper...a BIG swarm of bees flew overhead.  This is a mixture of "worry" and "what it that?" facial expressions. :o)

  3. hi JJ!
This ensemble is so cute on you. My gracious, yes! So sweet of your friend to assist in this concept, sharing, giving and your talents of sewing it.

I have never been stung by a bee. Never plan to, either. That is a somber expression!

    1. Never stung by a bee?? I thought everybody had been stung at least once during childhood! My adult brother makes even better expressions when he sees a bee, he is allergic to them!

  4. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! It's so rare to find a fashion blog nowadays that isn't full of sidebar ads, click through links, etc. I love how you keep the focus on the outfits and I admire your sense of individual style. I've quit reading most fashion blogs because designer shoes and handbags and high heels everyday don't fit into my lifestyle or budget--plus the silly poses just kill me (keeping it real here)! So, thanks for continuing to have a blog that inspires me fashion-wise!!!

  5. How beautiful is this?! I love the top (and how cool is the story about the fabric), and the skirt is beyond fabulous! You are now my hero, because if a swarm of bees (um, one bee) flew overhead I would've been running and screaming like a child...lol!
