Easter Outfits

Hat: Flea Market
Blue Pearl Necklace: Gift from Grandmother
Gold Necklaces and Earrings: Gifts from Hubby
Vintage Dress: Thrifted and Refashioned
Wearing my Yellow Tutu skirt as a petticoat
Sandals: DSW (clearance)

It was my Sister-in-Law's turn this year to pick out the colors (see color palette) for our Easter outfits.  I had this vintage dress (complete with original sales tags still attached) hanging out in my refashion pile.  My original plan was to do something nautical to it.  Well, I'm happy that I needed to change plans, I really do love how it turned out.  I tossed the dress in the wash with three bottles of Kelly Green dye and it came out this Jade color.  I took in the bodice and those giant sleeves, those things went past my elbows!  I swapped the buttons for cute little sheep that I colored in with Sharpies.  I sewed them on when they were still White and they just jumped out and were distracting.  Once I colored them in I thought they were cute and complimentary. :o)

I bought the sandals last Fall when they were marked way, way down.  This was my first time to wear them.  I was so happy they went so well with my outfit since I hadn't taken them out of the box until the day before Easter to see if they'd work.  I didn't really have a backup shoe in mind either.  I live life on the edge sometimes. :o)

  1. Hi JJ! I stumbled across your blog via Renee's Repertoire and I am so happy to have found you! Your style is so unique and just a breath of fresh air! I am obsessed with how this dress turned out...the color, the buttons and all of the detail that you added transformed this simple dress into a GORGEOUS work of art!!! I'm having fun catching up on your previous designs, you are so fun! p.s. - love your edgy green bangs!
