I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Scenic Print Dress
Earrings: Old
Purple Glass Beads: DIY
Yellow Beads, Yellow stretch bracelet, Shell Ring: Burke's Outlet
Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx
Dress: Thrifted
Purple Suede Wedges, Hue Tights: Dillards (both clearance)
I couldn't believe my luck when I found this dress while thrifting. I tried it on and it was a smidgen too tight in the hips. I checked the seams and saw that there was a little room to let it out. I checked the price, it was $6, but then I found out it was half off! For $3 I took the chance that I could make it fit.
I let it out as much as I could, but I still wasn't comfortable. I waited...in the last two weeks I finally got rid of some baby weight that was still hanging on. I tried it on again and wahoo! It fits! :o)
Now I"m still on the fence if I should remove the sleeves or not. What do you guys think? I could leave it as is, or I could make it a racer back.
JJ
PS: Please forgive the not so great photos. Yellow foam all around, low light, camera problems, bleh!
PS (again): I was super pleased that this dress goes perfectly with Share-In-Style: Summer, so of course Linking up there! :o)

Great dress and I could immediately tell you'd lost weight! Good job. Nothin' like a good outfit for motivation, haha ;)
ReplyDeleteRight! I kept staring at those sailboats thinking, "It will fit, it WILL fit". :o)
DeleteThat is super cute! I think removing the sleeves might make it even more comfortable. And the thing I love about sleeveless is that it layers well. You know, without having to straighten sleeves out underneath a jacket, etc...without the sleeves it would look more like a little vintage dress too.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts Joni, I'll be keeping them in mind.
DeleteAwesome dress for an awesome price!!! Good deal!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Hollie!

ReplyDeleteThank you Gema, it was a treat to find your blog. :o)
DeleteJJ, it is true I had no color in me because I had no blood flowing correctly. I am so glad she fixed that problem with blood infusion. I also think I am doing better on this chemo 6 because of the blood.
ReplyDeleteOk, I love the yellow tights. You pulled this outfit off great!!!! ♥
Maybe you should have worn yellow tights when you were so beige, it would have brightened you up. :o)
DeleteCool outfit :) and i like your blog!

DeleteWoo!! I love when I lose a little weight and can fit into things I've been saving! I would say remove the sleeves, because I think it would look adorable without them BUT depending on the weather where you live maybe not?
ReplyDeleteMiche from Buttons and Birdcages
If I go by the weather, then they should definitely come off. :o)
DeleteYou look so pretty JJ. The dress is cute, love the print like a watercolor painting, cool. I want your wedges!
