I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Timmmmberrrrrr!
Czech Glass Earrings: DIY
Coin Necklace: Antique Flea Market
Coin Bracelet: Gift from Son
Belt: Local Leather Shop
Lace Top: Ross
Dress: DIY
Bare feet: God :o)
Exodus 3:5 "Take off your sandals, for the place you are standing is Holy ground."
Yes, I was bare foot at church. I wore flip flops to walk from the car, but that was it. My feet were still sore from cleaning in high heels (that weren't even tall!) after my Niece's wedding Saturday, so I claimed Ex. 3:5 and went with it. :o) We had a nice heavy rain Saturday night, then early Sunday morning this big tree fell thankfully missing the playground! Hubby's mom was already there making the morning coffee and heard it crash down. I guess the ground was just so soggy, and the roots didn't seem to be very big, so that's what did it in. It made for some nice pictures for me, and my Son loved climbing on it, so not a total loss. Right? :o)

Wow, having that huge tree just fall over like that must have been something. Luckily no one was out there when it happened. I wonder if it could be replanted...
ReplyDeleteCool how you added ruffles (perhaps scarves?) to flow down and around your grey maxi dress. So I wondered if you had anything about the Koos pants you said you made? I didn't know he had any patterns for pants. Thanks for visiting Project Minima via Refashion Co-op.
Well I dug through my patterns and it wasn't a Koos after all. Sorry for getting your hopes up. It is Vogue V8588. I remember looking at Koos patterns the day I bought this one and it does remind me of his style. I am wearing them in this post http://dressupnotdown.blogspot.com/2012/10/all-dressed-up-with-no-place-to-go.html I made it in wovens instead of the stretch knit the pattern called for.
DeleteOh and I ruffled miles and miles of fabric for that dress, no scarves used. :o)
I love love love your dress! Super cute. I love ruffles and they look so great on your beautiful dress. You have such a lovely family. I'm glad nobody was hurt by the tree! Yikes!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. :o)
DeleteThis DIY dress is amazing!!!! I think I'm gonna have to "borrow" that idea!! I'll be happy to share any of my DIY ideas too!!
ReplyDeleteBorrow away...I too am happy to share. :o)
DeleteI think the ruffles add a touch of romantic to your outfit, I like it, you did a great job. I also like the combination on your post below of orange dress and blue sandals, looks really good. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Shey! :o) I always feel like a princess when I wear it.
DeleteI love those ruffles. I thought they were scarves. I have a box of old scarves that I may add to a dress like that!

Oh yes, scarves would work beautifully! I have used scarves to add ruffles to cardigans before.
