I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

I Have Giraffes on My Ears
Giraffe Earrings: Claire's
Heart Necklace: Gift from a Friend
Silver Rope Necklace and Silver Ring: Gifts from Hubby
Yellow Necklace and Black Stud Bracelet: Burke's Outlet
Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx
Dress: Gift from Mom
Belt: Local Leather Shop
Zebra Wedges: Dillard's (clearance)
The goal in picking out my dress was to wear something I hadn't worn in a while. I must have succeeded, because someone commented at church on my "new" dress. I had a hard time convincing them it is old.
This dress has a bubble hem (remember a while back when those were just THE THING?), but it's a subtle one, not too poofy. Since the dress has an overall classic look, the bubble hem comes off as a fun feature, rather than a trend defined item. At lease that's what I think. :o)
My favorite part of this outfit has to be my earrings! Aren't they the most fun? :o) I giggled over pairing them with this outfit, as they seem to be more something worn with a t-shirt.
It's also been a while since I wore the big Silver ring Hubby made for me for Christmas a couple years back. He has plans to make me some more rings, maybe I should ask him to make them different sizes so I can wear them all at once? It'd be like wearing brass knuckles! :o)

PS: I've decided to try "open" comments. If I get weird comments from the Annons, I'll just go back to making y'all sign in or maybe that horrible word verification thingy. :o)

Bloglovin
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
So I ran into a brick wall with my reader today. It would NOT pull up any of the blogs I follow! I have had this happen before, but a quick refresh usually pulls them up. Not this time! So here I go trying out Bloglovin! I hope I like it. :o)
Does anyone have any input on Bloglovin? Love it? Like it? Hate it?

Red Bead Necklace: Great Grandmother's
Double strand Necklace and Black Stud Bracelet: Burke's Outlet
Glass rings: Earthbound Trading Co (ages ago!)
Czech Glass Cha-cha ring: DIY
Watch and Top: TJMaxx
Belt: Commissioned from Local Leather Shop
Skirt: Gift from a Friend
Wedges: Dillards (clearance)
This outfit is from the Sunday before the Sailboat Dress, but I wanted to post that dress first, because it went so perfectly with Share-In-Style: Summer.
Back to this outfit. My friend thrifted this skirt for me!!!! Isn't that the greatest of friends? She knew it was perfect for me and knew I'd looooooove that it was thrifted. :o)
I tried on some other blouses that DID look good, but this one made it seem like I am wearing a dress. Pretty cool I thought.
I'm thinking the red tropical flowers on the border of my skirt could double as poinsettias. I sense a Christmas outfit in the making. :o) Maybe with some plaid! I love plaid.
So here's something to leave you with. I don't know what happened when the camera clicked, but it makes me laugh every time I see it!

Scenic Print Dress
Earrings: Old
Purple Glass Beads: DIY
Yellow Beads, Yellow stretch bracelet, Shell Ring: Burke's Outlet
Ceramic Watch: TJMaxx
Dress: Thrifted
Purple Suede Wedges, Hue Tights: Dillards (both clearance)
I couldn't believe my luck when I found this dress while thrifting. I tried it on and it was a smidgen too tight in the hips. I checked the seams and saw that there was a little room to let it out. I checked the price, it was $6, but then I found out it was half off! For $3 I took the chance that I could make it fit.
I let it out as much as I could, but I still wasn't comfortable. I waited...in the last two weeks I finally got rid of some baby weight that was still hanging on. I tried it on again and wahoo! It fits! :o)
Now I"m still on the fence if I should remove the sleeves or not. What do you guys think? I could leave it as is, or I could make it a racer back.
JJ
PS: Please forgive the not so great photos. Yellow foam all around, low light, camera problems, bleh!
PS (again): I was super pleased that this dress goes perfectly with Share-In-Style: Summer, so of course Linking up there! :o)

Western Wedding Coordinator
Vintage Earrings: Antique Shop
Watch and Boots(old): TJMaxx
Vintage Designer Silk Scarf: Estate Sale
Pearl Snap Dress: Cavendars
Tights: Target
I tried on this adorable dress waaaaaay back in December. Hubby said "Buy it!" I looked at the price tag and said, "I better leave it!" He still said, "Buy it," but I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much for what it was.
A couple of weeks ago we were buying boots for the boys, when I happened to see it hanging on the clearance rack for 1/3 of it's original price. Mine! All mine!!!! Hubby said, "Well it's a good thing you didn't listen to me back in December then." :o)
I waited to wear it until last Saturday for our niece's wedding. She wore boots with her wedding dress, the flower girls threw hay and petals out of cowboy hats, this dress was perfect! It was also perfectly comfortable for running around the church in my role as coordinator. :o)
The dress came with a matching checked tie belt, but the wedding colors were Coral and Turquoise so I used my scarf instead.
My tights look a bit more Pepto Bismol Pink than Coral on my screen, so just trust me that they are Coral. :o) I really wanted to wear lace tights, but couldn't find any the night before the wedding.
I'll leave you with the ONLY photo I was able to snap of the Bride and Groom. No time for photos when you're coordinating. :o)
