I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Yesterday's Outfit was Great...but this is not it!
Watch Necklace: Gift from Friend
Red "Jacket": Garage Sale (refashioned)
Top: TJMaxx (old, refashioned)
Pants: Stein Mart (dyed)
Crocs: Gift from Hubby
So yesterday I wore a pretty outfit that turned out to be pretty uncomfortable! Even though I received complements...I won't be wearing that exact same outfit again. One of the biggest issues was I wore a jacket that is still a bit tight in the arms (bought pre-baby) and that just doesn't work when I'm carrying around a big little guy!
Enough about that...Today's outfit has a lot of DIY. My "jacket" was previously a blouse, my blouse was tunic length before I gave it the chop, and my pants were a wedding dress...just kidding they were khaki and I dyed them. :o)
Special thanks to my Assistant and Part-time Photographer...my 6 year old son! :o) He took the second photo (plus several more that didn't get used, but ARE good enough to keep).

When an Outfit Just Happens
Gold Hoop Earrings: Gift from Hubby
Pearls: Gift from Friend
Black Beads: Had for Ages
Coral Ring: Silver Artist at an Antiques Show
Red Leather Belt: Wall's Outlet
Top: DIY
Skirt: Vintage Dress refashioned into Skirt
Red Blazer: Thrifted
Red Leather Shoes: Marshall's
I usually choose what to wear to church on Saturday night. I wasn't sure last night so I hung several options out, among which was this skirt. I had planned to wear it with a top that is in storage, but really it isn't cool enough yet. I had finished painting the Owl on my tank top yesterday, so it was laying across the ironing board, and as my gaze fell on it this morning I knew it would pair nicely with the skirt. I first thought of a Black belt, but when I reached for the belt I grabbed the Red one instead. Since the belt was Red, it made sense to wear the same color shoes. I stumbled across my Coral ring when I was digging for my pearls. Right before I headed out the door, I grabbed my Red Blazer. Outfit complete.
When I was reconstructing the Skirt from a Vintage Dress, I decided not to attach the lining. I thought I'd have more options if it was left separate, then I could wear the long liner, or a short liner, or tights, or shorts. For the rest of the day, I removed the Lining Skirt and wore Black shorts underneath.

Two in One
Scarf: T-Shirt (I made) rolled and worn as an infinity scarf
Umbrella: Vintage
Stripe Shirt: TJMaxx
Cardigan: Academy (clearance)
Brown Cords: refashioned
Mary Janes Pin: Vintage
Crocs: Gift from Hubby (Dillards)
My favorite weather is Rainy, my favorite season is Fall...Rainy Fall Day = Bliss. These Cords were an anemic greenish brown color and unflattering fit before threw them in Orange dye and tapered the legs. They are now a nice Teddy Bear Brown and are a great fit. :o)
