I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Christmas Card
This was our Christmas card this year. I had to tape my camera to the foot board of our bed to get the right angle. :o) After setting the timer and dashing back and forth about ten times, I finally got the shot I wanted! I'm happy to say it's just how I envisioned it. Yay!!!!
Merry Christmas!!!!!1

Home For the Holidays
Mistletoe headband: DIY
Red Beads: Great Grandmother's
Christmas Tree Earrings: Gift from Sister
Cardigan: Thrifted
Green Top: Gift from Mom
Red Polka Dot Tank: Walmart
Skirt: Self Made (no pattern)
Petticoat: Self Made (no pattern)
Hue Tights: Macy's (clearance)
Heels: Dillards (clearance)
We got home about 10:30pm Saturday night and I said, "I think I have time to make a new Christmas skirt to wear to church in the morning." By midnight I was done. I have to confess that I cut a corner or two. First, I skipped putting in pockets. Second, I forgot to put the ball trim on the hem! I plan on doing both of those things ASAP!!!
JJ
PS: I tried to show a little bit more of the petticoat for those curious about it. I keep meaning to take detail shots, but always forget. Sorry!

Blouse: Gift from Sister-in-Law
Belt: Local
Skirt: Self Made (no pattern)

The countdown has begun on how long I can wear this skirt! Hmm, I think I'll wear it grocery shopping tomorrow. Yes, yes I will. :o)
My nails are all nice from going out on a date with Hubby the night before. :o) I managed to keep them on three whole days before life demanded I get practical and remove them. It was nice while they lasted. Maybe I'll bust 'em out again for our New Year's party?
Hope everyone is having as much fun as we are during the holidays!

Ok, I seriously love this skirt! It's like wearing a ballgown...in a wonderful weighty cotton!!! I totally found myself swishing side to side on stage when I was singing at church. :o)

It Was a Happy Thanksgiving at the Farm
Leaf Crown: DIY
Red Beads: Great Grandmother's
Gold Hoops: Gift from Hubby
Watch: TJMaxx
Blouse: Self Made (New Look 6808)
Duck Cardigan: Thrifted
Jeans: Gift from Hubby
Loafers: Thrifted
It was a wonderful day spent at the family farm celebrating Thanksgiving with lots and lots of family, good food, and fun!
I made the teepee for my boys with the intention of letting the cousins paint designs on it. The painting didn't happen...now we have something fun to do next rainy day. :o)
What did happen at the farm? Tractor rides, horse rides, jumping on hay bales, a 500 piece puzzle was put together minus one piece (we think we lost it in the campfire), and lots of eating, drinking, and visiting around the fire.
The last photo is the view out back of the farm house. A few years ago Grandpa placed the statue of Jesus looking across the fields. Isn't it peaceful? (The statue is taller than me, even without its platform.)
Still feeling Thankful,
JJ
