I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

"Want some more coffee Hon?" That is exactly what I thought as I was pulling this dress over my head Sunday morning. :o)
This dress was a diamond in the rough! The front was covered in stains and it had an odor that made me hold it with two fingers by the very edge of the fabric. I was afraid to try it on, but I knew it could be saved! Those sleeves were just too cute to pass up!
My niece (the one that gifted the Vintage Orange top to me) was with me and said if I wasn't getting the dress, she wasn't afraid to buy it. "Oh no," I said, "It's going home with me and I'm picking up some OxiClean on the way home!"
I even asked for it to be bagged separate from my other purchases!
We got home, the dress went straight into the sink with about three times the recommended amount of OxiClean. After soaking it allllll day and night, it came out beautifully. I'm so glad I wasn't scared off by the state I found it in.
Oh, it came with a tie-on belt, but it was a bit "Meh" to me.

PS: I also wore a Red Blazer to church, but didn't manage to photograph it. It had warmed up considerably by the time we got home and took outfit photos.

It wasn't cold Sunday, but it WAS windy. (Thought I should explain why the baby is barefoot, he took off his socks in the car.)
I debated on posting the last photo, it's almost indecent, but it was the only shot we got of me jumping off of that hay bale! I decided that everything important IS covered, and it was so much fun, so here it is. :o)
Lena posted 11 Questions today. It seems like fun, so here are my answers...
1. When did you last laugh?
This morning when I received good news about a friend in the hospital.
2. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
I shop with cash.
3. What's under your bed?
Winter coats, sleeping bags, and lots of toys. (And probably monsters)
4. What do you consider your best physcial feature?
My smile and my curves. :o)
5. What is your best childhood memory?
Riding in the truck with my Dad in the oilfield.
6. Grab the book nearest you, turn to page 18 & copy the fourth sentence here:
"Here come pig feet" (The page only had one sentence.)
7. Seen anything weird lately?
The baby putting Goldfish Crackers in between his toes! :o)
8. If you could change one thing about your home, without worry or expense, what would you do?
Oh you know, just finish building my house that's under construction.
9. What is your favorite time of day?
The morning is so peaceful, but evening is when Hubby is home. Also, 3pm when we pick Opie up from school!
10. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes.
11. Tell me something about you most people don't know.
I jump on the bed with my boys. :o)
Hope y'all enjoyed that little look into "me".

Favorite Color: Orange
Blouse:Gift from Niece
Calf hair Belt: Antique Mall
Jeans: Express (old)
We were Thrifting over Christmas Holiday when our Niece found this vintage top. I might have said something like, "That top is so cool...I hate you." Yeah, I'm not very gracious when losing out on a vintage thrift. In fact, I reminded her that two years ago she made off with a vintage wool skirt suit that I was beyond envious of.
So how did I end up with the blouse? The next morning she showed up at the house, handed me a bag, and said, "Merry Christmas." :o)
Now after wearing it all day, the dang beautiful thing strangled me the entire time! Not to worry, I shall make the cutest pillow out of it. I will enjoy it every single day perched on my couch. That's way more often than I'd ever wear it, so all ends happily.

Poirot
Fedora, Coat, Dress, Belt, Bracelets: All Thrifted
Pearl Ring and Gold Hoops: Gifts from Hubby
Tights: Prague
Heels: Dillards (clearance)
Watch: TJMaxx
The second photo is me preparing myself to take off my coat and hat! :o)
We have been watching a LOT of Agatha Christie's Poirot here lately. It is the baby's favorite show, actually it is the only show he asks to watch! :o) It sounds more like "pow-pow" when he says "Poirot". Of course, I think it's the absolute most adorable thing!!! Opie (7 years old) has asked for a Poirot Murder Mystery birthday party this year. It's going to be the coolest kid party EVER!
Anyways, I felt like a character from Poirot in this outfit. The ladies wear the most beautiful clothes. I know some people watch the show just to see what his secretary, Miss Lemon, is wearing. :o) It's one of the few shows that is just as good as the books.
