I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Yesterday's Outfit was Great...but this is not it!
Watch Necklace: Gift from Friend
Red "Jacket": Garage Sale (refashioned)
Top: TJMaxx (old, refashioned)
Pants: Stein Mart (dyed)
Crocs: Gift from Hubby
So yesterday I wore a pretty outfit that turned out to be pretty uncomfortable! Even though I received complements...I won't be wearing that exact same outfit again. One of the biggest issues was I wore a jacket that is still a bit tight in the arms (bought pre-baby) and that just doesn't work when I'm carrying around a big little guy!
Enough about that...Today's outfit has a lot of DIY. My "jacket" was previously a blouse, my blouse was tunic length before I gave it the chop, and my pants were a wedding dress...just kidding they were khaki and I dyed them. :o)
Special thanks to my Assistant and Part-time Photographer...my 6 year old son! :o) He took the second photo (plus several more that didn't get used, but ARE good enough to keep).

When an Outfit Just Happens
Gold Hoop Earrings: Gift from Hubby
Pearls: Gift from Friend
Black Beads: Had for Ages
Coral Ring: Silver Artist at an Antiques Show
Red Leather Belt: Wall's Outlet
Top: DIY
Skirt: Vintage Dress refashioned into Skirt
Red Blazer: Thrifted
Red Leather Shoes: Marshall's
I usually choose what to wear to church on Saturday night. I wasn't sure last night so I hung several options out, among which was this skirt. I had planned to wear it with a top that is in storage, but really it isn't cool enough yet. I had finished painting the Owl on my tank top yesterday, so it was laying across the ironing board, and as my gaze fell on it this morning I knew it would pair nicely with the skirt. I first thought of a Black belt, but when I reached for the belt I grabbed the Red one instead. Since the belt was Red, it made sense to wear the same color shoes. I stumbled across my Coral ring when I was digging for my pearls. Right before I headed out the door, I grabbed my Red Blazer. Outfit complete.
When I was reconstructing the Skirt from a Vintage Dress, I decided not to attach the lining. I thought I'd have more options if it was left separate, then I could wear the long liner, or a short liner, or tights, or shorts. For the rest of the day, I removed the Lining Skirt and wore Black shorts underneath.

Two in One
Scarf: T-Shirt (I made) rolled and worn as an infinity scarf
Umbrella: Vintage
Stripe Shirt: TJMaxx
Cardigan: Academy (clearance)
Brown Cords: refashioned
Mary Janes Pin: Vintage
Crocs: Gift from Hubby (Dillards)
My favorite weather is Rainy, my favorite season is Fall...Rainy Fall Day = Bliss. These Cords were an anemic greenish brown color and unflattering fit before threw them in Orange dye and tapered the legs. They are now a nice Teddy Bear Brown and are a great fit. :o)

Golden
Sunglasses: Marshall's
Earrings: Gift from Friend
Necklace: Gift from Friend + a little DIY
Zebra Sport Bra (meant to show): Target
Stripe Tank Top: Walmart
Purple Cardigan: Academy (clearance)
Trousers: Express
Crocs Flats: Dillards
This is what I wore to a birthday party I took my son to. We did not go to church due to him having fever during the night, but since he went all morning and afternoon fever free, I decided he could go out.
I have seen pictures/posts on blogs singing the praises of the "Golden Hour" where you face the setting sun for your photos. It just so happened the sun was setting when we got back home, so I grabbed the camera and Hubby and gave it a try. The close up is really the best "golden" one. I took it to show off my jewelry. The necklace was a gift that I added Orange nail polish to some of the "stones", it now matches the earrings that were also a gift.

Umbrellas on a Rainy Day
Pink Hat: Gift from Friend
Butterfly Earrings: Gift from Friend
Red Beads: Great Grandmother's
Belt: Had made by local leather shop
Umbrella Blouse: Thrifted and Refashioned
Skirt: TJ Maxx
Leopard Jeans: Ross
We had a Surprise 80th Birthday Party to go to after church. A quick change into jeans, remove the belt and I was ready to go. I would've stayed "dressy", but I knew I would be helping with cleanup after the party.
