I like vintage looks. I have a tacky gene that loves to mix prints. I have fun trying new things with my hair. I'm a bargain hunter and hardly ever buy an item full price. I love to sew, and feel pleased as punch when I wear something of my own design.

Shawl of Easter Past
Flower Hair Piece: DIY
White Pearl Earrings and Necklace: Gift from Hubby
Black Pearls: Gift from Friend
Pink Pearls (Necklace and Bracelet connected): Gift from Friend
Pink Glass Ring: Earthbound Trading Co.
Mother of Pearl Ring: Bought at the Beach when visiting Friends in High School
Shawl: Friend picked it up for me at Dallas Market
Tank Top: Target
Ruffle Dress: DIY
I wore this Shawl about 8 years ago for Easter with a White Skirt, Top, and Shoes that I no longer own. I made my Headband 30 minutes before leaving for a Wedding on Saturday! This was in between curling and pinning up my hair. :o) I left my hair up and it still looked good for church after a couple touch-ups with the curling iron. I made this dress for my Niece's Mad Hatter Birthday Tea Party two years ago. I sewed miles and miles of ruffles and just love, love, love it! It is my favorite thing I have ever sewn. I call it my Princess Dress! :o) I painted my toenails ORANGE and was so happy to not have boring nails, that I had my Sister paint my fingernails with Pink Shelac (it stays on about 2 weeks).

Jacket and Hat of Easter Past
"Hat": DIY
Earrings: Dallas Market
"Black" Pearls: Gift from a friend
Rose Bone Necklace: DIY
Bow Belt: Wet Seal
Cameo Ring: French Quarter, New Orleans
Tiny Yellow Flowers: Gifts from Son :o)
Silk Purple with Black Lace Top: TJMaxx
Heirloom Crochet Jacket: DIY
Denim Skirt: Handed down from a friend
Antonio Melani Heels: Dillards (Clearance)
I couldn't comfortably wear the dress that I wore last Easter, but I could wear the Jacket and "Hat" I wore with it. :o) I made this Jacket last year using Doilies and other things made by Grandmothers, Great-Grandmothers, Mother in Law, even a piece by me. The "flowers" on my shoulder were made from my Grandfathers Christening Cap with beads and a bit of Tatting from Hubby's Grandmother! If you're wondering what piece I crocheted...it's the tiny green flower on my right shoulder. :o) I also made my "Hat" with some of the beads from Hubby's Grandmother used as dewdrops.

Hulking Out
Diamond Earrings: Gift from Hubby
Green Beads: Flea Market on Side of the Road
Silver Lily Ring: Had made by a vendor at Antiques Show using Vltavin Stone I bought in Czech Republic
Hulk Shirt: Reconstructed (was Hubby's)
Skirt: Handed down from a Friend
Blue Leather Flats: DSW (Clearance)
I saved Hubby's Incredible Hulk shirt, after it shrunk in the wash, for a couple of years 'cause I knew just what I wanted to make with it...the perfect shirt for when I started "Hulking Out" with a preggy belly! I still haven't changed the neckline, but I can tolerate it for now. It will most likely drive me nuts when our temperatures start climbing. This is what I wore to my Doctor appointment today...I wonder if she's ever had a mom show up in a Hulk shirt before? :o) All photos today are thanks to my talented 5 year old Son!

Another Dress of Easter Past
Gold Hoops: Gift from Hubby
Vintage Collar Necklace: Antique Shop
Wire wrapped stone slice necklace: Made by Sister
Silver Ring: Made by Hubby
Black Blouse: Spiegel Outlet (years ago)
Dress: TJMaxx
Dolce and Gabbana slingbacks: Thrifted
Bramin Purse: Gift from Hubby:
Animal Print scarf on purse: WetSeal (or some other cheap trendy store in the Mall)
I'm wondering if I can manage to wear past Easter dresses all the way up to this Easter? Hmmm, I think that could be a bit of a challenge due to current size issues. :o) I think I'll see how many I can squeeze into though. This dress was from 3 Easters ago, my family all wore brown and/or purple that year. I was inspired by my new Vintage Collar Necklace to combine the black top with it. I was happy to be sporting 3 different animal prints, 4 if you count the Alligator print of my purse! I was also super happy with my hair. I had thought to curl it, but decided against it due to the rainy day. Some teasing and shaping resulted in what you see here...it even held up through a nap and looked good for Evening Service!

The Dress of Easter Past
Earrings: Dallas Market
Necklace: Cross Charm, Made by Friend; Star of David Charm, MIL brought back from Israel
Lace Top: Ross
Dress: Dillards (on sale, 5+ years ago)
Antonio Melani Heels: Dillards (clearance)
Orange Bramin Purse: Gift from Hubby
Space Scarf (tied to purse): Prize at a party
This was my Easter dress when I was expecting my first Son. It is not a maternity dress (I don't wear very many actual maternity clothes). I thought I would wear it again for Easter this year, but happy day...I found a new dress while shopping Saturday.
