Where's Waldo?

I haven't been on Pinterest in a while so I didn't realize "Where's Waldo" was going to be so popular this year!  I had the idea to do it last year, so imagine my surprise when I went to buy Red and White striped t-shirts for the guys and Could.Not.Find.Them!!!  I went to two different Targets to get the boys shirts and snagged the last one on the shelf at each.  Both shirts were Big Brother's size, so I had to size down one for the Little Guy.  I finally had to give up on finding one for Hubby and painted Red stripes on a Grey stripe shirt.  Grr, this was supposed to be a low key year for costumes!

The hats ended up being more involved than I had planned too!  I went to the Dollar store to pick up White stocking caps (for a dollar, duh) and they said, "Sorry, we don't have them yet, but we're getting them soon."  *Sigh* Not soon enough for my plans though.  I ended up getting 2 Red tees and 2 White tees to sew the caps out of.  Hubby had a White cap so I got off easy just "decorating" his. :o)

Thank goodness I already had my striped tee and cardigan!

The same Sister-in-law that gifted me the blouse I wore last Sunday also gave me this super cute jacket.  Really.super.cute.jacket!!!

I was picking out all my jewelry and needed earrings to go with everything.  I was reaching for my "matching" Orange flowers when I spied my Orange fishies!  Yep, I couldn't resist pairing them with this otherwise normal outfit.  I like to think they're whimsical. :o)

Here's to wearing what makes us happy!

Maxi Vest

Hairpin: Made from a vintage clip-on earring
Blue Bead Necklace and Small Silver Cuff: Friend brought back from Israel
Orange Czech Glass Necklace: DIY
Spike Necklace: Burke's Outlet
Big Silver Cuff and Vintage Brooch: Antique Shop
Belt: Garage Sale
Watch: TJMaxx
Navy Dress: Old
Maxi Vest: Refashioned
Heels: Gift from Mom

I spied this 70's leisure coat peeking out from a Halloween costume rack at the thrift shop.  The sparkly Silver sleeve was enough to draw me in, but when I pulled it out and saw the amazing Orange print on the bottom...I.was.smitten!

I would have worn it as it was, but the sleeves were too tight on my shoulders.  I have to be able to move in my clothes. :o)  No problem though, I knew I would remove them and turn this beauty into a fantastic Maxi Vest.  I don't know if that term already exists, but that's what I decided it is.

It took no time at all to remove the sleeves and finish the arm hole with bias tape.  Oops, I forgot to photograph the inside!  I made the bias tape from a scrap of zebra print fabric.  Such a fun little surprise just for me to enjoy. :o)

When I got home from church, I changed into a Black long sleeve tee, light wash jeans (rolled up), and Orange flats.  This is one versatile little (big?) Maxi Vest!

PS: Here's a glimpse of the man behind the camera. :o)  You've seen him on here before (in focus), but I thought this shot looked neat!

Very Bright Vintage

Necklace: Burke's Outlet
Banana Pin: Antique Shop
Coral Ring: Outdoor Market Vendor
Vintage Top: Gift from Sister-In-Law
Vintage Maxi Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: Local Leather Shop
Heels: Thrifted

I was afraid I was going to have to go to church naked on Sunday, but my Sister-in-law came to Texas bearing gifts!  Yay, I had the perfect skirt to go with this top she gave me, making the perfect outfit!  EVERYONE was happy I didn't have to go naked. :o)

Ok, so yes, that was silly to say I didn't have anything to wear, you all know I have LOTS to wear.  What I didn't have was an outfit picked out due to the most crazy busy week before our family arrived.  We decided to push through and move into our house this weekend.

Exhaustion galore!  We.were.pooped!

BUT, soooooooo excited!!!!!  :o)  We are now living in part of the house while still working on the unfinished parts.  There are more unfinished parts than finished, but we don't care. :o)

PS:  Every time someone asks what happened to my jaw, I tell them I cut myself shaving. :o)
